Post Con message from Claire Walters
On July 31 - Aug 1, 2009, GeorgiaCarry hosted the 1st annual convention. Guests, volunteers, GCO board members, elected officials, Governor candidates, vendors & sponsors — all made it a success!
Common words I see describing the event is educational & informative.
There was a AR15 assembly/ dis-assembly demo. Self defense training talk, litigation talk, and lobbyist John Thomas & William Woodall started off the workshops in the ballroom.
Airports up north closed Saturday morning which did not allow Dick Heller to travel to ATL. Mark Walters (Armed American Radio) made an appearance to introduce Rep. Tim Bearden and Rep. Bill Horne.
Then a panel of eight elected officials and Governor candidates took the stage answering questions from the audience - moderated by John Monroe.
I was unable to be in the ballroom to watch the Q&A forum – however, I did get twitter updates from someone who was part of the audience posting quotes from the guests on the panel! It was great!
Each of these workshops are powerful tool for you to now use in our effort to get HB615 and HB819 passed during this upcoming legislation.

Saturday evening was fun for everyone! Guests had to opportunity to mingle with invited VIPS & GCO board members.
Moby (Moby in the morning) opened the show with the pledge allegiance with almost 300 armed patriots about to have dinner together. Moby gave us a fantastic show — bringing us GCO President Ed Stone, a fun auction and Former congressman Bob Barr.
I can not thank everyone enough for the support that was shown at this event!

I regret that I could not attend the convention. I hope I will be able to attend future events. Congrats on it being a success, the volunteers who worked hard on the event deserved it to be a success.
